ABOUT US
Welcome to Pip & Pup
Small-scale, thoughtful dog care in Old Town, Eastbourne 🐾
Hi, I’m Katie — and this is Toka. We live in Old Town, Eastbourne, and we offer small-scale dog care and walking designed to feel like a second home for your dog.
Our aim is simple:
You feel completely confident your dog is safe, happy, and enjoying the right balance of play, rest and gentle structure.
What a day with us looks like
I work part-time as a charity lead and also as a freelance public health nutritionist. My office is dog-friendly, which means your dog may spend part of the day with me there — always supervised, always settled.
Depending on drop-off time, a typical day might include:
A morning woodland or forest walk
A few calm hours at the office
A second walk
Rest and enrichment time at home before pick-up
Most mornings we head out for a good woodland stomp. If you’re local to Old Town, we can often collect and drop off as part of our route.
At weekends, we usually go on a longer walk — visiting dogs are very welcome to join.
Small numbers, calm environment
I generally care for one additional dog at a time, alongside my five-year-old springer spaniel, Toka. Occasionally, if I know the dogs well and they are a great match, I may take two.
Keeping numbers small allows me to:
Give individual attention
Maintain calm, safe dynamics
Notice subtle changes in behaviour or wellbeing
Ensure every dog feels secure
We prioritise repeat bookings wherever possible — the goal is for your dog to feel like they’re coming to their second home.
About Toka
Toka is a gentle, thoughtful five-year-old springer spaniel. She has been attacked in the past, so she can occasionally go into “freeze mode” when first meeting a new dog. Because of this, introductions are careful and considered.
We don’t take every dog — and that’s intentional. If it’s not the right fit for both dogs, we’ll say so. Everyone’s comfort matters.
Walking service
Our dog walking is mostly local to Old Town and surrounding areas. We don’t drive, so we walk locally or use public transport for slightly further adventures (such as Friston Forest).
If your dog isn’t comfortable with buses or trains, we’ll keep walks closer to home.
Walks are structured, stimulating and balanced — with plenty of sniffing, exploration and decompression.
At home
When we’re not out walking, dogs rest in the same room as me while I work. We also incorporate gentle play, enrichment activities, and calm downtime.
The rhythm is intentional — stimulation and then rest — so dogs go home content rather than overstimulated.
If you’d like your dog to have a calm, thoughtful, second-home experience in Old Town, we’d love to hear from you 🐾
